Chandeleur Island Brewing Company

Chandeleur Island Brewing Company is a production brewery and taproom in a historic building in downtown Gulfport. Founders Cammack and Cain Roberds, who attended the University of Southern Mississippi, began homebrewing after developing a love of craft beer in the 1990s. They named the brewery for the Chandeleur Islands, a chain of uninhabited islands about 50 miles long off the Mississippi coast that is prized for redfish and speckled trout fishing. A 2012 state law that raised the alcohol limit for Mississippi beer encouraged them to open, and they bought the downtown building in December 2013. The lineup has included the Gulf Sour Series, the Freemason and Osiris beers and Curlew’s Coconut Porter. The family-friendly taproom has a kitchen, a saltwater aquarium, a dog-friendly porch and windows looking into the brewhouse, and tours are offered.
