Red Panther Brewing Co. is a brewery in the center of the Mississippi Delta, in downtown Clarksdale. Its name comes from Coahoma County: “Coahoma” is derived from the Choctaw words for red panther, and the brewery chose it to honor the people who lived on the land first and the wild plants and animals of the Delta. Clarksdale is widely known as a birthplace of American music, the home of blues greats like John Lee Hooker and Muddy Waters, and it draws music lovers year-round. The taproom lineup has included a Delta Kölsch, a Mexican lager, a rice lager, a hazy IPA, an XPA and a pomegranate sour, along with house ginger beer and root beer. Wine and fresh margaritas are also served, and the brewery offers tours.
